Frequently asked questions
Below you will find some of the most commonly asked questions we get about the studios. If there is anything you would like to know that isn't answered here, please drop us a message via our 'Contact Us' page
What Classes do you offer?
We have a huge variety of classes available at all KPole studios, with our most popular being Pole Fitness and Aerial Hoop. If you would like to have a look at our live timetable you can click HERE and filter at the top for your desired studio.
If you are a new starter looking for beginner friendly sessions, then the best place to start is HERE.
what should i wear?
For pole classes we recommend wearing shorts and a vest top/sports bra/t-shirt. We use your skin to grip the pole so essentially, the more skin you have on show, the easier it is to grip. We completely understand that you may not feel comfortable in shorts straight away, so you are welcome to wear leggings or joggers that can be pulled up over the knee for your first session to see how you feel about it. We have toilets/changing rooms at all KPole studios so feel free to change at the studio! We ask that you do not moisturise or fake tan on the day of your session as this can make you and the poles slippy and make it dangerous for yourself and others using the equipment. Please remove all jewellery, especially rings bracelets and watches as these can scratch the equipment.
For aerial classes we recommend tighter fitting clothing such as leggings and vest tops or fitted t-shirts, We recommend avoiding loose fitting clothing as this can get caught on the equipment. You may wish to bring layers so that you have something to cover your arms, which can then be removed if needed. We also recommend wearing socks. Please remove all jewellery, especially rings, watches and bracelets as these can cause damage to the aerial equipment.
We encourage all of our students to express their personalities in what they wear and love seeing you feeling your most confident, sexiest and comfortable. Our only non-negotiable is that you ensure what you are wearing is appropriate for the class you are participating in and ensure that genitals and nipples are fully covered at all times, regardless of gender.
how do i sign up?
That depends what you want to sign up for!
If you are a new starter, we recommend looking at our 'New Starter Page', as we have a range of ways you can start at the studios and this will help you to pick the option which best suits your lifestyle.
If you are looking to sign up to a monthly membership with us you can click here to look at the options available. We always recommend trying a pay as you go class with us first before committing to a monthly membership so you can see if it is for you!
How many people are there in a class?
The number of people per class is dependent on class type and studio, as we have a different amount of equipment available at each studio. We will never have more than 2 people per piece of equipment in classes as we feel this is the perfect level to give you time to rest in between training, but also ensures you get a good amount of time on the equipment.
For this reason, it is vital that you book your class before attending the studio as classes do get busy and if you have not pre-booked and the class is full you will be turned away.
is there parking at the studios?
There is parking available at all KPole studios, some on road and some in carparks. For full information on finding us and parking you can head to our 'Contact Us' page where you will find links to videos with full instructions.
are there changing rooms at the studios?
There are toilets at all KPole studios with space for you to change if you wish. You are very welcome to head to us straight from work and get changed into your pole or aerial gear on arrival.
can men come to classes?
Absolutely! All of our classes are open to ANYONE and EVERYBODY.
do you have any taster sessions?
We don't offer taster sessions as such for our classes but every single one of our group sessions (bar our introductory course) can be purchased as a single pay as you go session. We highly recommend coming to try a group class with us before committing to any of our monthly memberships or class packs. Our timetable can be found here, you just need to filter at the top of the page for your studio of choice. All group classes have beginner level sessions so are very suitable for new starters, but just drop us a message here if you have any questions!
can i watch a class first?
Unfortunately we do not allow people to watch a class before they attend. We want our students to feel as comfortable as possible when they are participating in their classes, so for this reason we do not allow others to watch whilst the classes are taking part. however, if you would like to pop in to see the studio at some point before your lesson this can be arranged outside of class hours. Please drop us a message if this is something you are interested in doing.
can i train whilst pregnant/postnatal?
We do have a number of pre/postnatal qualified instructors at KPole Studios, so we are able to offer some level of training whilst pregnant, but we would need you to have been consistently training pole or aerial for at least 6 months prior to the pregnancy.
If you do find out you are pregnant please get in touch with us or speak to your instructor as soon as possible so we can have a chat about continuing with your training and ensure we are doing everything we can to maintain your safety whilst in classes with us.
We highly recommend a chat with your doctor/healthcare provider after giving birth to be cleared for exercise again and if you are recently post natal, please contact us before signing up for classes so we can have a chat about your return to training/starting your journey.
accessibility at the studios
At KPole Studios we have a diverse range of instructors which we are very proud of. As a team, we want to ensure that we are doing all we can to provide a training and learning space for each of our students with a range of different needs. We are always open to your feedback and concerns, and if you do feel that we can do something to improve the accessibility of the studios, please let us know!
Pole and aerial are physically demanding activities, but there are many opportunities for us to offer alternative learning styles so that we can meet a wide range of needs. If you feel that you have a specific need which needs to be addressed with us before starting your journey, please drop us a message so we can have a chat about how we can reasonably accommodate this during classes. Our top priorities are safety and enjoyment for our students so we will always aim to find a solution with these two priorities in mind.
Specific accessibility notes for each studio can be found below:
KPole Cradley Heath
The studio at our Cradley Heath location is a ground floor building. The front of the studio can be accessed via a step or ramp and the back entrance to the studio is on ground level. There are no stairs within the studio.
Toilet facilities
A gender-neutral toilet is located in the studio which is also an accessible toilet.
Assistive Hearing Loop
The building does not have a hearing loop. If you have any hearing difficulties, please get in touch with us before your first sessions so we can discuss with you how to ensure the lesson is both accessible and safe for you.
Wellbeing and Quiet Areas
The studio is one large room and so unfortunately we don't have access to a separate space for students who may feel overwhelmed. We do have an area with a sofa and kitchen/sink facilities which is slightly set back from the main studio area, which you are welcome to go and use at any point during your session should you need to sit out for a moment. If you feel that the environment may become overwhelming for you please discuss this with your instructor who will offer you the chance to step out the back of the studio at any point which is a quieter space than the front.
KPole Solihull
The studio at our Solihull location is a ground floor building. The studio is accessed through a side door where there is a very slight ridge, and a potentially tight corner for a wheelchair to access. There is a front entrance to the studio through the Yoga Reception, which has a step up to the front door, but much wider space to access the studio should this be needed.
Toilet facilities
Male and female toilets, changing rooms and showers are available as part of the yoga reception of the building.
Assistive Hearing Loop
The building does not have a hearing loop. If you have any hearing difficulties, please get in touch with us before your first sessions so we can discuss with you how to ensure the lesson is both accessible and safe for you.
Wellbeing and Quiet Areas
Whilst the studio is one room, we do have access to the yoga reception area, which has sofa's and water facilities, which you are very welcome to step out into if the studio environment becomes overwhelming. Please be aware that we do share this space with a number of other businesses so it cannot be guaranteed that it will be quiet, but you are welcome to step out there at any point.
KPole Wolverhampton
The studio at our Solihull location is located on the first floor of an old industrial building. Unfortunately, the studio can only be accessed via a staircase which turns around corners and there is no lift. There are also 2 steps up into the front of the building with a coded door lock.
Toilet facilities
There is a gender neutral toilet and shower available on the first floor of the building. Unfortunately this is a non-accessible toilet.
Assistive Hearing Loop
The building does not have a hearing loop. If you have any hearing difficulties, please get in touch with us before your first sessions so we can discuss with you how to ensure the lesson is both accessible and safe for you.
Wellbeing and Quiet Areas
As the studio is split over a number of rooms, there is plenty of space for you to step out should the environment become overwhelming for you. The first room you walk into upon entering the studio is not used for classes, so you are welcome to take a minute in there, or we also have an office as you turn left upon entering the studios, which you are also very welcome to sit in should you feel you need to.
is there a weight limit on the equipment?
To put it simply, no.
To describe in a bit more detail, all of our equipment in KPole studios has been installed by professionals and load tested. We also complete regular checks to ensure all trussing and aerial equipment is in great working order. Studio equipment is built to withstand dynamic movements, drops, multiple people on equipment and more, so without being able to give you an actual figure for a weight limit you can be assured that it is certainly not an issue for one individual of any weight.
Please note that home mounted equipment is different and you would need to look at the manufacturer of your equipment for this information.
